The Penetang Kings are proud to announce that Spencer Walker is taking the next step in his hockey career, joining the Hearst Lumberjacks of the NOJHL for the 2026–27 season.

Spencer made an impact during his time in purple, and we’re proud to see him earn the opportunity to continue his development at the Junior A level.

“I’m really grateful for my time with the Kings. It was a great experience being part of such a good group of guys, and I really appreciated the support from the fans and everyone involved with the team.”

Watching players grow, develop and earn opportunities to move forward is an important part of junior hockey, and we’re excited to see what comes next for Spencer.

Congratulations, Spencer, and thank you for everything you brought to the Kings. Best of luck in Hearst this season.

IN HIS ELEMENT

The Penetang Kings are proud to introduce Mike Gervais as our Equipment Manager for the 2026–27 season — and what better day to do it than on his birthday!

After spending many years behind the bench coaching, Mike knew he still had plenty to give to the game.

“I joined mostly because even after coaching forso many years, I felt I still have so much to give back. The organization has welcomed me with open arms, and the way people are treated is refreshing.”

Organized, detail-oriented and always thinking ahead, Mike has already been putting in plenty of work behind the scenes to make sure the room is ready and our players have what they need for an incredible season of hockey.

There’s a lot that goes into a hockey season that fans never see, and we’re fortunate to have Mike taking care of those details as we get ready for our 50th.

Welcome to the Kings, Mike — and Happy Birthday!

THE NEXT CHAPTER

The Penetang Kings are happy to welcome defenceman Brycen Kingma back for the 2026–27 season.

Brycen’s hockey journey started in the Castle as a Penetang Flame. Years later, he returned to the same rink to begin his junior career with the Kings, gaining valuable experience as one of the younger players on last year’s roster.

There’s another connection to the Kings that makes having Brycen on this year’s team especially fitting. His dad, Andrew, suited up for Penetang during the 2002–03 season. As the Kings celebrate 50 seasons, Brycen represents a new generation of a family that has already been part of the team’s history.

“My favourite part about last season was getting junior experience at a young age, learning from the veterans and playing in my hometown in front of the awesome fans. I’m very excited about this upcoming season. I think this team has a lot of talent and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do.”

After a season spent learning the junior game, Brycen returns with that experience behind him and the opportunity to continue making his own mark in the place where his hockey journey began.

Welcome back, Brycen!

SETTING THE PACE

The Penetang Kings are very happy to welcome Logan Tucker back for the 2026–27 season.

After beginning last year with the Georgina Ice, Tucker joined Penetang midway through the season and quickly showed why he was a valuable addition to the Kings.

Logan plays the game with pace and purpose. He sees plays develop, creates scoring opportunities and has the skating ability to open things up when he’s on the ice. It’s a combination that makes him an important part of the Kings forward group heading into the new season.

“I really enjoyed being part of such a supportive team and having the backing of such incredible fans. I’m excited to be back and can’t wait to get started.”

Now, Tucker turns his attention to the season ahead and helping the Kings make their 50th year one to remember.

Welcome back, Logan!

RAISED IN THE CASTLE

For Owen Moreau, the Castle has been home ice for a long time. Growing up playing with the Penetang Flames Minor Hockey Association, Owen spent years in this rink before eventually stepping into the crease for the Kings.

Now, he’s back for 2026–2027 and he’s coming off a year that showed just how much he can bring between the pipes.

Owen picked up 12 wins, posted a 2.11 GAA and .940 save percentage, and finished with the third-best save percentage in the PJHL. His play also earned him North Carruthers Division Player of the Month honours along the way.

At the Kings’ 2025–2026 year-end banquet, Owen was named Most Improved Player, recognizing the strides he made and the confidence he continued to build in the crease.

And while there was plenty to remember on the ice, Owen’s favourite part of the year was something a little different.

“The best part of last year for me was the bus trips to and from games. What I’m looking forward to is wearing those new jerseys.”

From his minor hockey days to another year wearing a Kings jersey, Owen’s story in the Castle continues as we head into our 50th season.

Welcome back, Owen!
