BACK IN THE CASTLE FOR SEASON THREE
The Penetang Kings are proud to announce the return of forward Owen Fuller for the 2026-27 season.
Through his first two seasons with the Kings, Fuller has appeared in 82 regular season games and 19 playoff games, missing just two games during his PJHL career. Known for his versatility and team-first approach, Owen has been counted on in a variety of roles throughout his time in Penetang. Whether playing centre or wing, moving throughout the lineup, or even stepping in on defence during last season’s playoffs, Fuller has consistently done whatever has been asked of him to help the team succeed.
As a member of the Kings leadership group, Fuller leads by example on and off the ice. His commitment to sportsmanship has earned him the organization’s Most Sportsmanlike Player Award in each of the past two seasons.
With 52 points through his first two years in a Kings uniform, Fuller will look to continue building on that total as he enters his third season with the club.
One of Owen’s favourite memories from his time with the Kings was the team’s overnight bus trip to Muskoka.
Looking ahead to the Kings’ 50th Anniversary Season, Fuller is excited about what’s ahead.
“I’m excited to play with some hometown talent and looking to make a deep playoff run with a great group of guys.”
Away from the rink this offseason, Owen has been coaching ball hockey, playing pickleball, staying on the ice in the LUG League, and working outdoors.
The Kings organization is pleased to welcome Owen back for another season and looks forward to the leadership and contributions he will continue to bring on and off the ice.

A ROOKIE STANDOUT RETURNS FOR THE 50TH SEASON
The Penetang Kings are proud to announce the re-signing of defenceman Blake Weicker for the 2026-27 season.
Blake made an immediate impact during his rookie campaign, earning the team’s Rookie of the Year Award while finishing 6th among all rookie defencemen in PJHL scoring. His confidence, work ethic, and all-around game made him a key part of the Kings lineup throughout the season.
Blake shared that his favourite memory from the 2025-26 season was the Winterama game against Huntsville.
This summer, he’s spending the offseason playing pickleball and golf and is looking forward to returning to the Castle for the Kings’ 50th Anniversary Season.
The Kings coaching staff are excited to welcome Blake for another season and look forward to another strong year on the Kings blue line.
Welcome back, Blake!

🚨TRADE ALERT 🚨
The Penetang Kings have traded Matthew Laframboise to the North Middlesex Stars in exchange for a Player Development Fee.
With Matt heading to Fanshawe College this fall to study electrical, the move gives him the opportunity to continue his junior hockey career while attending school.
Matt appeared in 100 games, including playoffs, during his time with the Kings while missing just two games. A hard-working, committed, and highly coachable player, he played both center and wing and was someone the coaching staff could count on night after night.
When asked about his time with the Kings, Matt said:
“I’ll miss the boys and defending The Castle. My favourite memory is winning Game 7.”
Thank you, Matt, for everything you gave to the Kings over the past two seasons. We wish you and your family all the best, and we hope to see you back in The Castle at some point during our 50th Anniversary Season.
One question remains: who takes over as the self-proclaimed best sewer player on the Kings?…

ANOTHER KEY ADDITION FOR OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON
The Penetang Kings are proud to announce the signing of forward Brendan Williams for the 2026–27 season.
A native of Phelpston, Williams returns to Central Ontario after spending the past several seasons with the Peninsula Panthers of the VIJHL, while also seeing time with the King Rebellion of the OJHL.
A proven offensive threat, Williams finished second in team scoring for the Panthers in each of the past two seasons. During the 2025–26 campaign, he recorded an impressive 30 goals and 34 assists for 64 points in 45 games, including 13 power-play goals. Williams was also a member of the Peninsula Panthers team that captured the 2024–25 VIJHL Championship and knows what it takes to be part of a winning team.
As we continue to build toward our historic 50th Anniversary Season, we’re excited that Brendan has chosen to continue his hockey career back home and bring his offensive production and experience to The Castle.
“I wanted to come home to play with my buddies and play in front of my family for the first time in three years. Being closer to home will also allow me to focus on my future. I’m excited to win games and hopefully go on a long playoff run.”
We’re equally excited to welcome Brendan and his family to the Kings organization as we celebrate our historic 50th Anniversary Season.
Welcome to Penetang, Brendan!

A HOMECOMING SIGNING FOR OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON
The Penetang Kings are proud to announce the signing of forward Alex Sajan for the 2026-27 season.
A product of Penetang Minor Hockey, Sajan returns home after spending the past two seasons on Vancouver Island with the Peninsula Panthers of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.
During his time with the Panthers, Sajan established himself as a consistent contributor while gaining valuable experience competing in one of British Columbia’s premier Junior B leagues. He was also a member of the Peninsula Panthers team that captured the 2024-25 VIJHL Championship, bringing championship experience back to Penetang for the Kings’ historic 50th Anniversary Season.
For Sajan, the opportunity to return home makes this next chapter especially meaningful.
“It feels great coming home to play in Penetang. Starting as a Penetang Flame makes this even more special. I’m looking forward to being with the guys and defending the Castle.”
The Kings coaching staff are excited to add both experience and local roots to the lineup.
“Alex is a player who has gained valuable experience over the past two seasons and understands what it takes to be part of a winning culture. We’re excited to welcome him home and look forward to seeing what he can bring to our group this season.”
While Alex and his family are certainly not strangers to many of us around The Castle, please join us in officially welcoming them to the Penetang Kings for the 2026-27 season.
Welcome home, Alex.

🚨 TRADE ALERT 🚨
The Penetang Kings have traded forward Ethan Barron to the Midland Flyers in exchange for a player development fee.
Known around The Castle for his sense of humour, Ethan was voted “Funniest Guy in the Room” by his teammates this past season.
Having grown up playing his minor hockey years in Midland, Ethan will now return to his hometown as a member of the Flyers.
When reflecting on his time in Penetang, Ethan shared:
“My favourite memory was actually recent, just being at the banquet spending time with all the boys one last time. They were all great guys.
What I’m looking forward to most being back on my home ice is going to be playing against the Kings for sure.”
Ethan is an excellent young man who made a positive impact during his time in Penetang. We thank him for everything he brought to the team this season and wish Ethan and his family all the best with the Midland Flyers.
